Standing Committee on Public Health (SCOPH)
Urbanisation and Health
"In 2007, the world’s population living in towns and cities surpassed 50% for the first time in history and this proportion is growing.”Urbanisation is the increase in people living in cities compared to people living in rural areas and even though it has brought sanitation and better living conditions, it contributed greatly to the increase in the incidence of non-infectious diseases. "In less developed countries, urbanisation also opens the door to 'western' diseases, including hypertension, heart disease, obesity, diabetes and asthma.”
During this session, we will be looking at some manifestations of urbanisation and discussing some solutions and strategies intended not only to improve health, but also creative ways to enforce their adoption by institutions and individuals.
Standing Committee on Human Rights and Peace (SCORP)
1 PINT, 3 LIVES
Did you know that donating 1 pint of blood could save up to 3 lives? According to the WHO “75 countries report collecting fewer than 10 donations per 1000 population”. SCORP aims to raise awareness on the importance of blood donations. There is a worldwide shortage of donors and many do not realize that a small act of kindness can help save many lives. Where does donated blood go? What are the current worldwide statistics? How big of a difference can one blood donor really make? Join SCORP to find out!

At SCORE we believe that a well-conducted research is vital to the success of global heath endeavors. We will focus on ‘Research in medicine’ and its contributions to the development of global health issues such as recent epidemics, antimicrobial resistance, vaccinations, aging, chronic health issues and so on.
We offer this opportunity to you to become a part of this amazing world of medical research. As future health care professionals one should not just treat patients but also be able to analyze and devise better and newer treatments.
So lets all join together for a better world, by starting today as WE have to be that change and in here we teach you how. Just remember Nobel Prize isn’t far away!!!
With SCORE, your benefit is sure.
Standing Committee of Professional Exchange (SCOPE)

Breaking Barriers
SCOPE is not only for the exchange of clinical students between countries, but also for the exchange of knowledge, skills and ideas. Therefore it has everything to do with change in the global community.
In our session we will identify unique measures and strategies used by various countries that work on current WHO themes such as food safety, heart health, antimicrobial resistance and road safety. The aim is to appreciate the global distribution of ideas and techniques, and the opportunity provided by SCOPE to gather such knowledge from the international knowledge pool.
